A.J. Swoboda (PhD, Birmingham), will be the guest speaker at Faith Center. A.J. is an assistant professor of Bible, theology, and World Christianity at Bushnell University and the author of After Doubt, Subversive Sabbath, The Dusty Ones, and A Glorious Dark. On the weekend before Easter, A.J. will be speaking on “A Glorious Dark” which is based on the silence of Saturday, that followed the crucifixion. Real, raw, and achingly honest, A Glorious Dark addresses the ambiguity, doubt, and uncertainty we feel when our beliefs about the world don't match up to reality. Tackling tough questions like Why is faith so hard? Why do I doubt? Why does God allow me to suffer? and Is God really with me in the midst of my pain? A. J.
