Matt and Heidi Messner have been married for over twenty years and have two adult children, Alicia, and Levi.

Matt has a great passion to see the Church impacting the community and the world. He is a visionary leader with a deep sense of calling and mission. He has a history of empowering and mobilizing other leaders and has proven himself as an inspirational communicator, and a strong Bible teacher.

Heidi grew up in a missionary family and was a part of smuggling Bibles into Eastern Europe before the fall of the Iron Curtain, spreading the Gospel in Europe, Asia and South America. She has worked in churches in nearly every aspect of ministry from preaching and teaching, worship and drama, starting home group ministry and developing curriculum for children to adults.

Matt has a B.A. from Life Pacific College, a M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary and a D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  He is the President of North Coast Bible Institute and has served on the adjunct faculties of several Bible Colleges and Seminaries.

He serves as the primary coordinator and consultant to the Children of Hope in the slums of Metro-Manila, Philippines and as the Vice-President of African Hospitality Institute, in Uganda. This ministry is involved in discipleship and equipping orphans with vocational skills needed for employment as they move into adulthood.

Heidi is an experienced Christian Counselor with a B.A. from Life Pacific College and her M.A. in Counseling from Northwest University.  She is an Adjunct Professor at Northwest University in the Graduate School of Social & Behavioral Sciences. She also mentors Fuller Theological Seminary students in Counseling Psychology as well as Missions.  She enjoys creative arts, drama, music, writing, teaching, sports and outdoor activities, travel, animals and building long term relationship with people that she hopes to take into eternity.

 Matt is known for his abilities as a distance runner, having won the Portland Marathon in 1999, and having competed in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Trials. He is an outdoor enthusiast who also enjoys hiking, trail running, mountain climbing and mountain biking. He also won the Avenue of the Giants Marathon in 1994.
